The Company
Fabrik Salons opened in 2010 and very quickly made a name for itself as the salon to go to for excellence in beautiful, creative hair. They are an independent award winning hair and beauty salon, with a strong vision of how they want to be seen and represented in the eyes of their customers and their market. They offer a warm and friendly atmosphere, with highly trained, passionate hairstylists that listen, advise and execute one-off hairstyles as individual as you are.
The Challenge
To refresh a dated brand that lacked a strong visual representation of the way they wanted to be seen in the eyes of their clientele. To introduce a timeless, premium, elegant, high fashion look with a slightly urban aesthetic that prepares the business for expansion into the wider market, with a view to becoming a scalable business model. To keep and work with the existing name of Fabrik Salons, within within a tight budget, a staggering approach was set.
Approach
Within this industry the market is saturated so I started with the original name. What does Fabrik say or mean to the customer? What is its purpose? The thought process led me to the fact that you may spend £80 pound on a dress and only wear it twice that year, but you wear your hair every day! Fabrik creates individual hair creative, as individual as you are, therefore it is tailor-made for you. The branding needed to be clean cut and sure of itself, so I used clean lines and strong contrast to enable it to be applied across many different mediums and all platforms both print and digital, instantly recognisable for being strong proud and confident.
The Outcome
A strong identity to be built on and adapted, a positive increase in the social media interaction and engagement, positive feedback from clients on the new look and feel of the salon increased traffic into the salon through promotional flyers and online posts and shares that engage with their audience, keeping them captivated and up to date with offers and promotions.
